What is a “tool call”?
A tool call is one action Claude takes against your SmartAdvocate tenant on your behalf — things like searching for a case, reading a note, drafting a task, uploading a document, or logging a phone message. One question to Claude usually triggers 1–5 tool calls depending on how much context Claude needs to gather before answering.
~250 calls per business day. Roughly 50–100 questions to Claude per day depending on complexity. Comfortable for an individual attorney working primarily out of SA.
~1,250 calls per business day per seat. Comfortable for heavy daily use including bulk operations like reviewing 30 cases at month-end or drafting a batch of follow-ups.
Limits reset on the first of each calendar month. We'll send a usage alert at 75% and 90% of your monthly limit so you can upgrade or wait without surprise. Hard cap at 100% — tool calls beyond the cap return a clear “monthly limit reached” message instead of a silent failure.

Live and recorded training for attorneys, paralegals, and intake staff. Role-specific playbooks (intake, settlement, mass-tort, refer-out). Quarterly refreshers on new connector capabilities. Custom curriculums available.
Private-environment deployment
Enterprise option. Deploy the connector inside your firm's own AWS, Azure, or on-premise environment alongside a private Claude (Anthropic Bedrock, Vertex AI, or your own Anthropic enterprise contract). Required for firms with strict data-residency or sovereign-cloud requirements.
