How to run a workflow

Run a workflow in Claude

No coding. No config files. Two ways to run any Cohesive360 workflow, depending on whether you want it once or want it always available.

Before you start

You need (1) a Claude account at claude.ai or the Claude Desktop app and (2) the Cohesive360 connectors set up — that's the credentials for each system the workflow touches (case-management, RingCentral, etc.) configured at Connectors. If you're not signed up yet, request access — we'll have your firm running in under 1 business day.

Method 1

Paste the prompt — easiest

Works on every Claude surface — desktop, web, mobile. No install, no config. Best when you want to run the workflow once. Once you see it work, consider Method 2 to make it permanent.

1

Open the workflow you want

Go to /workflows and pick the workflow that matches what you're trying to do. Click into it.

2

Copy the prompt

On the workflow detail page, find the “The prompt” section. Click the Copy prompt button — that copies the prompt to your clipboard. (You can also use the “Run in Claude (copy prompt)” button on the signed-in workflow library at /app/workflows.)

3

Open Claude

Pick whichever Claude surface you use:

Claude Desktop

Open the Claude app on Mac or Windows. Start a new conversation.

Claude.ai (web)

Go to claude.ai in your browser. Sign in. Start a new conversation.

Claude mobile

Open the Claude app on iOS or Android. Tap the + button to start a new chat.

4

Paste the prompt and send

Paste your clipboard into the message box. The prompt has bracketed placeholders like [CASE NUMBER] or [JURISDICTION]. Replace each with your specifics, then send the message.

5

Review what Claude drafts

Every workflow drafts outputs, it doesn't post or send. Claude shows you the draft case notes, draft emails, draft tasks — you read them, edit if needed, then approve. Nothing lands in your case-management system or your client's inbox until you say so.

Method 2

Install as a Claude Skill — ambient

Once installed, Claude activates the workflow automatically when you ask something it covers. You stop needing to remember to paste the prompt. Trade-off: takes 2 minutes to install per workflow. Best when a workflow is part of your routine.

1

Download the skill file

On the workflow detail page, click Install as Claude Skill. Your browser downloads a file named cohesive360-<workflow>.SKILL.md.

2

Install in Claude — depends on surface

Claude Desktop (Mac / Windows)
  1. Quit Claude if it's running.
  2. Open Finder (Mac) or File Explorer (Windows).
  3. Go to your home folder, then navigate to .claude/skills/ — on Mac that's ~/.claude/skills/, on Windows %USERPROFILE%\.claude\skills\. Create the folders if they don't exist.
  4. Make a new subfolder named after the workflow (e.g. cohesive360-daily-brief).
  5. Move your downloaded SKILL.md file into that subfolder. Rename the file to exactly SKILL.md (no prefix).
  6. Open Claude Desktop again. Start a new conversation.
  7. Ask Claude something the workflow covers (e.g. 'Run my daily brief'). Claude should activate the skill automatically.
Claude.ai (web) — workspace admin
  1. Sign in to claude.ai as a workspace admin (workspace owner or admin role).
  2. Open Settings → Workspace → Skills (or whatever your plan exposes).
  3. Click 'Add skill' / 'Upload skill' and select the downloaded SKILL.md file.
  4. Confirm — the skill is now available to everyone in your workspace.
  5. Start a new conversation. Ask Claude something the workflow covers.
  6. Note: workspace skills require a Team or Enterprise plan on claude.ai. Free / Pro users on web should use Method 1 (paste the prompt).
Claude mobile
  1. Mobile Claude doesn't yet support direct skill upload from the app.
  2. Best path: install on Desktop OR your workspace admin uploads via claude.ai (web). Once installed in your account, mobile picks it up automatically.
  3. Fallback: use Method 1 (paste the prompt) on mobile. Works fine.
3

Verify it activated

Test by asking Claude something the workflow handles. For example, after installing Daily Brief, ask: “Run my morning brief.”Claude should respond by reading the skill and starting the workflow steps. If it asks generic questions instead, the skill didn't install — double-check the file path and try again.

Troubleshooting

Claude says 'I can't find that connector' or 'I don't have access to that tool'

The required Cohesive360 connector isn't installed in your Claude account, or the credentials aren't saved. Go to /app/credentials and make sure every connector the workflow uses has credentials configured. Then re-run the prompt.

The skill downloaded but Claude isn't activating it

Most common cause: file path. The SKILL.md must live at ~/.claude/skills/<folder>/SKILL.md exactly — not in your Downloads folder, not renamed. On Mac, the .claude folder is hidden by default; press Cmd+Shift+. in Finder to show hidden files. On Windows, type %USERPROFILE%\.claude\skills\ in File Explorer's address bar. Restart Claude after moving the file.

The workflow says 'Settings → Connected Apps' but I don't see that in my Claude

Check that Cohesive360 itself is installed as a connector in Claude. Settings → Connectors → + Add custom connector → paste https://platform.cohesive360.ai/api/mcp. Approve. Then re-run.

Claude drafted a note in a different case than I expected

Phone-matching isn't perfect when the same number appears on multiple matters. Edit the assignment before approving, OR add a one-liner to the prompt: 'this voicemail is on case [X]' to override.

I want the workflow tuned to my firm's voice / templates

That's coming in a future phase (firm-tuned workflows — Tier 3 of our moat ladder). For now, edit the prompt before pasting — add a line at the top like 'use the attached letter template' or 'match the tone of these sample notes [paste 3 examples]'. Claude will follow it.
